Why contact with nature has great benefits for our body and soul
Learn about nature and find more peace in yourself
This is the first sentence of my first Substack blog post,
anyways let’s talk about physical benefits and why it is important to maintain contact with nature.
When we are in nature outside for example in the park or in our local forest, we are exposed to natural sunlight which grows the production of vitamin D. This is essential for bone health and immune function. Nature also increases physical activity because it provides many activities such as walking, hiking, or cycling, which improve cardiovascular health, strengthen muscles, and promote overall fitness. Being outside in a forest or in a park also reduces the overall cortisol level (stress hormone) and lowers blood pressure, resulting in decreased stress and improved cardiovascular health and calmness.
Nature also offers a rest from modern day-to-day life, which allows our brain to relax, recharge, and restore mental energy. Nature also provides perspective and calmness because of its greatness and timelessness remind us of our place in the universe, providing grounding and a sense of inner peace. Mother nature increases cognitive functions: It has been shown to improve attention, awareness, and problem-solving abilities.
My conclusion is that nature has an innate ability to heal and regenerate our body, mind, and soul. By hugging nature and making time for our outdoor experiences, we can improve our physical, mental, and spiritual health.
